AI Agent vs Chatbot vs AI Employee
A chatbot answers. An agent also acts in your systems. An AI employee is an agent packaged around a job role.
A chatbot answers questions, usually inside a single channel, often from a fixed script or a knowledge base. An AI agent goes further: it decides the steps, uses tools and takes actions in your systems, such as updating a CRM record or processing an invoice. It copes with variation and hands off to a person when judgement is needed. An AI employee is an agent packaged around a job role, like Customer Support Executive or Finance Analyst, with ready-made starting workflows, so you can think in terms of roles rather than individual tasks. All three can answer questions. Only agents and AI employees reliably do things across your systems. Choose a chatbot for simple Q&A, an agent for a specific multi-step workflow, and an AI employee when you want a role covered with supervision.
